Payments and Transfers
By
electronically transferring your paycheck, Social Security check,
pension or other payment into your account you save time and your
funds are more secure. The entire paycheck can
be automatically credited toward any combination of your accounts
each time it is deposited. Direct Deposit increases the security
and convenience of processing your check, no more waiting in lines
and your funds are instantly available. Government regulations
provide protection for you in case of error. The Social Security
Administration started using Direct Deposit for its recipients
almost thirty years ago and has never lost a payment. Set up your
Direct Deposit today and start enjoying your extra time and peace
of mind.
When
you choose to have your paycheck deposited to your share draft
checking account, it is imperative that you provide your employer
or payer with your complete 8 digit checking account number. You
can give the account number from the bottom of your check. The
total number of digits should always equal 8. Again, if you do
not give your employer the complete 8 digits of your account number,
your paycheck will not be deposited.
Direct
Deposit
<top>
Direct
Deposit into savings is simple. You need only
supply your employer or payer with your basic account number and
the suffix of that account. For example, if your paycheck is to
be deposited to your regular savings account, you would need to
submit an account number that looks something like 123401, with
the last digit being the suffix of your account. Call the credit
union if you have any questions, but don’t wait. It’s
as simple and safe as can be. Learn

ABA
Transit Number
Giving your ABA Transit number to a third party authorizes a payment
or withdrawal from your checking or shares. We suggest that you
monitor your account activity regularly for accuracy.
The
ABA or routing number will be the nine digits on the left bottom
side of your check. Your account number will be in the next set
of numbers, leaving off the first zero and the last two digits
shown. For example, if the numbers show 09999025, your member
number will be 99990. Online

Automatic Payments
<top>
Automatic
payments electronically deduct money from your share or share
draft account and apply it toward your outstanding NM Energy FCU
loan balances. Our automated services are easy
to establish; simply call Member Services at 505-845-6939 or toll-free
at 1-800-825-5256 for more information.
Automatic Transfers
<top>
Automatic
transfers are the most care-free way to simplify your monthly
bill keeping. Once you have established automatic
transfers, specified amounts of money will be electronically disbursed
to the accounts of your choice. These electronic transfers through
the Automated Clearing House (ACH) make automatic payments to
accounts outside of NM Energy FCU. Many utility and retail vendors
can arrange these, which automatically debit your credit union
account to make regular payments.
If you are interested in arranging this free service ask us about
our easy Switch Kit or contact the customer service department
of companies you regularly deal with, such as utility, cable,
and phone companies. Each company will take care of arranging
the automatic payment and you will still receive a monthly statement
showing the activity on your account.
It
is important that when you initiate you electronic/automatic payments,
that your complete account information is included in your request,
or your payment will be returned. Call a Member Service Representative
for easy establishment of your automated transfers.
Share Draft Automatic Services
<top>
When choosing to make automatic payments to or from your share
draft checking account, it is essential to provide the billing
vendor with your complete checking account number. This account
number is on the bottom of your check, and the total amount of
numbers should always equal 8. Again, if you do not give the vendor
the complete 8 digits of your account number, your payment will
be returned to the vendor as we are not authorized to make adjustments.
This 8 number structure is for debits from your account such as
payments to companies other than NM Energy FCU, as well as for
credits to your account such as direct deposit, payroll and social
security.
Regular Share Account Automatic
(ACH) Services
<top>
If you choose to make electronic/automatic payments from a credit
union savings account, provide the billing vendor with your account
number and the suffix of that share number. For example, if your
payment is to be made from your regular share savings account,
you would need to submit an account number that looks something
like 123401, with the last digit being the suffix of your account.
These numbers are sufficient to make automatic payments from a
regular savings account. This account number structure is for
debits (from) your account such as payments outside of NM Energy
FCU, as well as for credits (to) your account such as direct deposits
and payroll.
